Rose Anderson

Rose is the niece of Chief Superintendent Matthew Lawson.
Rose moved to Ballarat from Melbourne to work as a reporter for the Ballarat newspaper, 'The Courier'. Rose has a soft spot for her uncle Matthew, but still does not hesitate to grill him for details about active cases.
In Series 5, Rose was fired by Edward for not telling Edward about the information she had received about Lucien Blake's divorce. Edward made advances on Rose and when Rose rejected him, Edward sought revenge by publishing a front-page news article about the divorce scandal involving Lucien Blake, publishing it under Rose Anderson. Rose recieved her job back when Patrick fired his son from the newspaper and reinstated Rose.
During Series 5, it is revealed that Rose and Charlie start to see each other and develop a love interest for each other. However it is revealed in the Telemovie, that they both have mutually agreed to go back to being just friends.
