One of the things that hooked me on TDBM was how tightly scripted the episodes are - not a wasted word or action. The flip side is that sometimes we're left wanting a bit more. For example, in ep. 5.7 Jean was upset with Lucien, but in ep. 5.8 she has forgiven him. What happened? We may have a clue in the Season 5, ep. 7 & 8 bloopers on you tube. There's a scene where Lucien and Jean are holding hands in his study. She hands him Munro's notebook and tells him that everyone deserves a second chance. That scene never made the final cut. If you'd like to see it, here's the youtube link:

Lucia, Do you have many “missing scenes”? Things you wish had been shown?

Hello, my first comment on this site. Have always loved 'missing scenes', & thinking out what 'could' have occurred. One in particular, before Jean leaves for Adelaide & Lucien & Jean eating scones & discussing the Freemasons etc. in the hotel room. The very last words come from Jean, she looks at Lucien...."Is that all?" I don't think that it could have been. Something very different must have been said or implied for the change in dynamics between the two. What do other TDBM people think?

Yes, I think there was more than what was being said. I also wish we got to see more of what happened in Adelaide seeing as we got no scenes at all, just “hearsay” after the fact!

Perhaps Jean's son Christopher 'jumped the gun' asking his Mother to go to Adelaide, & his wife did'nt really want her M-in-Law there. Christopher may have taken Lucien's request, 'to let Jean share in the happiness of the baby', more seriously than intended??? [Just guessing.]

Interesting! What did he say as he left her hotel room, knowing she was leaving the next day? Did he say he'd see her off at the bus? Was that why she was so disappointed?

Lucien asked to take her to the bus when they were in the driveway at their home and she told him no. I think deep down she was hoping he would come and was very disappointed when the bus took off with no Lucien.

I agree - I always thought the "is that all?" part was a bit strange, and I'd loved to have seen more context around it. I've always wondered where the conversation went from there.

Good one - I, too, have to admit I would love to have seen a little more drama around the stabbing - Jean being told, rushing to the hospital, waiting for news.

I remember an interview where Craig said that Lucien ran after the Adelaide bus - apparently they had to film it again because the locals watching it cheered! Haha. But that scene didn't make the show, and I really wish it had.
